Chef Oscar's Culinary Origin Story
Nurtured in the vibrant tapestry of Sagrada Familia, Chef Oscar initially embarked on a law career. However, a part-time role as a cook, taken to meet financial needs, unveiled an innate passion for cuisine. Blissfully unaware of the culinary journey ahead, Oscar immersed himself in the world of flavors, setting the stage for a transformative career.
In an interview, Chef Oscar shared, "I allowed myself to explore the opportunity, take in, and just learn. This is when my passion for cuisine arose, to a point where I no longer could envision myself anywhere far from the kitchen of a restaurant (or food)."
His Culinary Journey Continued
His culinary journey continued through diverse restaurants in Barcelona and Madrid, reaching a zenith at the Michelin-starred Arzak in Donosti. Under the mentorship of industry luminaries, Chef Oscar honed his skills, shaping a culinary identity that would later define his distinctive style.
"I joined Arzak, a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in Donosti (Spain) where I learnt from the best chefs. Not so long after, the Padrosa family came into the picture and offered me to lead their kitchen at Telefèric Barcelona in Spain," Oscar reminisced.
Telefèric Barcelona: A Fusion of Culinary Cultures
The turning point arrived when the Padrosa family beckoned Chef Oscar to lead the kitchen at Telefèric Barcelona in Spain. This marked the genesis of a culinary crossroads that would eventually find its way to the United States. At Telefèric, Oscar skillfully melds regional tastes with global influences, creating a dining experience that captures the essence of Barcelona's rich culinary heritage.
In a heartfelt reflection, Chef Oscar shared, "Being a Chef is an honor. It allows me to experiment and create while getting to meet different people and creating ever-lasting memories."

Chef Oscar's culinary journey earned prestigious accolades, including the renowned Best Tapa in Madrid, recognition as one of America's Top Chefs, and the title of Best New Restaurant East Bay 2016 by Diablo Magazine.
